The Position
Skilled Medical is currently seeking a Registrar for the General Surgery Department that can demonstrate experience in the delivery of high-quality healthcare to patients. Registrars on this run provide services principally to wards in the acute services block, the Emergency Department, HDU / ICU and Day ward under the supervision of the consultant to whom they are attached.
Day to day clinical management of the team's patients including the admission and clerking of acute admissions, attendance at the consultant ward rounds and routine ward work in conjunction with the house surgeon. Participating on the on-call roster. Conduct Outpatient Clinics. Attend meetings as follows: Surgical Services weekly clinical meeting, Radiology review, Clinical Grand Round, Weekly Journal Club. Senior staff comprises six General Surgeons. There are a mix of SET 1 and SET 2 Registrars with non SET Training RMOs. There are six surgical House Officers and one Senior House Officer.

Essential Criteria
Doctors must either have their MCNZ registration or be eligible to apply for registration via The Competent Authority Pathway.
