We are on the hunt for a professional and passionate Assistant Restaurant Manager to lead our international Front of House team.
Located in the Tauranga CBD Picnicka offers guests a vibrant and contemporary dining experience. Delicious food for every occasion and every day, paired by the best wines from NZ and abroad.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside Chef Ryan Allen and our international and well trained front of house crew. Ideally we are looking for someone with a Sommelier degree who is passionate and has experience with wines from NZ and abroad. The role requires a positive and professional attitude as you will work closely with our Groups Management team.
As part of the Clarence and Alpino group we may require our management team to help out in our other Tauranga and Mount Maunganui venues from time to time as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Consult with guests to assist in selection of wines
- Maintain wine list, cellar, and other storage areas; monitor inventory and expenses
- Develop strong rapport with vendors, agents, and wineries
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 3 years experience in high end establishments and fine diningIdeally WSET level 3 degree or equivalentHighly committed to a premium level of serviceKnowledgeable on food and wine pairingsStrong verbal and written English communication skillsSuperior conflict resolution skills, with the ability to relate professionally to all levels of staff, management, clientele, suppliers, and partnersStrong problem solving skills, including the ability to analyse current business problems and implement recommended solutionsFlexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidaysWe have a Full Time role (40-50 hours per week) available and depending on your skill levels an hourly pay of 28 to 30$.
