Health and Safety Advisor

We are seeking a capable individual with relevant skills and experience in the health and safety area to become part of the Health and Safety Team which will be based at the Petone campus , with a requirement to work across all campuses .

Aboutthe role | Te Kaupapa

Reporting to the Team Leader Health and Safety, you will workcollaboratively with the wider team, who will guide and support you along theway to drive, influence and imbed health and safetyinto our organisation.

Weare currently engaged in various initiatives to align the systems and practicesof Whitireia and WelTec. In this role there will be an opportunity foryou to gain exposure to multiple aspects of health and safety in a complexenvironment. This role is a great way to start your career.

KeyAccountabilities

• Ensure incidentsare timely managed and followed up where an investigation is required.
• Ensure trainingand revalidation of health and safety activities are arranged and recordedwithin the electronic sharepoint system.
• Conduct Health andSafety Audits and Reviews over all campuses ensuring all actions andoutcomes are completed.
• Ensure you keep upto date with various Acts and Regulations and have an awareness ofprogramme deliveries and how they impact on health and safety.
• Work closely withmanagers at all levels ensuring they are aware of their responsibilitiesand hazard / risk management requirements.
• Assist yourmanager in monthly reporting to JLT.

Aboutyou

Ourideal candidate willhave knowledge about health and safety and be aware of the various Acts andregulation and be customer focused. You willneed to have a collaborative approach and be able to tailor your approach tosuit a variety of internal and external customers. Excellent communication andcomputer skills are a must as you will be working across all of our campusesandtalking with a variety of stakeholders.

EssentialKnowledge and Skills

Ideally,you will have the following background and experience :

Relevant Health & Safety qualifications or awillingness to work towards one
