Mobile Grounds Maintenance
Location : Covering Canterbury

From £14.00 per hour (PAYE inclusive of holiday)
Monday-Friday overtime, if you require it
You must hold a full UK driving licence as this is a mobile role.
Summer : Monday to Thursday 08 : 00 to 16 : 30, Friday 08 : 00 to 14 : 30 (total 36.45 hours).
Winter : Monday to Wednesday 08 : 00 to 15 : 30, Thursday 08 : 00 to 15 : 00, Friday 08 : 00 to 14 : 00 (Total 31.75 hours).
You will be required to drive, due to the size of the grounds.
We are currently recruiting a mobile grounds maintenance operative in the Canterbury area.
We are currently recruiting someone to work helping maintain the surrounding grounds.
This would include litter picking, general ground maintenance duties and ride on mowers.
Responsibilities
You will be involved in a number of different roles with a focus on working with the team to maintain the grounds, general garden maintenance and estate work.
You will be working as part of the ground's maintenance team and be involved in the day-to-day maintenance and care of the ground.
Essential Criteria
NVQ 2 or equivalent in a related area, e.g. Horticulture, sports turf or maintenance of amenity facilities
City and Guilds / Lantra or NPTC spraying certificates PA 1, 2 & 6 qualifications
Good computing skills, especially in MS Word, Outlook and Excel
Chainsaw CS 30 & 31; Pole saw CS48 or equivalent or a willingness to undergo training.
Full UK manual driving licence, you will be driving vehicles and transporting equipment
Proven experience of all aspects of horticultural maintenance in a medium to large organisation
Knowledge of maintenance techniques and processes inherent in the upkeep of artificial and natural landscapes
Proven experience of a wide range of mowing machinery and techniques
Operate and maintain a wide range of ground care machinery, including woodchippers / shredders
Set up heights of cut and quality of cut on pedestrian cylinder and rotary mowers
Drive a range of tractors and operate both PTO and ground driven equipment
Identify a wide range of both and non- plants, trees, shrubs and bedding plants using both common and botanical nomenclature
Work in an organised manner using your knowledge and expertise to deliver on time and to standard
Ability to work efficiently on your own as well as in a team
Ability to interpret information clearly and instruct others in a relevant area of work
Excellent communication skills
Up to date with current techniques used in Horticulture and Grounds Maintenance
Knowledge and awareness of health and safety policy and practices in relation to grounds and garden operations
Flexibility to alter working hours and willingness to be on call for severe weather and other ground care emergencies
Willingness to undertake all personal development and training required to maintain skills and knowledge
