About us
Te Kāpehu Whetū was founded in Whangārei with a clear vision : to raise rangatahi who are confident, capable, and grounded in te reo me ōna tikanga. Guided by our three pou : Kia Māori, Kia Mātau, Kia Tū Rangatira Ai, our kura has a strong reputation for academic achievement, cultural strength, and leadership development.
In January 2026, Te Kāpehu Whetū – Tāmaki Makaurau will open its doors. This Kura Hourua will welcome day and boarding students from Tai Tokerau and the wider Auckland area, offering high achievement across academics, sports, and pathways into tomorrow’s industries.
About the role
The Pouako English & history will teach English / literacy and history, fostering critical thinking, communication skills, and historical understanding. The role includes curriculum contribution and cross-subject collaboration.
