We are seeking a syndicate leader to join our leadership team in 2026. This is a key position where you will lead a team of teachers, contribute to whole-school leadership, and help us continue to provide rich, meaningful learning opportunities for all ākonga.

What we are looking for

We are seeking an educator who :

  • Builds strong, trust-based relationships with ākonga, kaiako, and whānau
  • Leads with integrity and sets high expectations for learning and behaviour
  • Models our school values of kindness, respect, and resilience in all aspects of school life
  • Understands and applies inclusive, trauma-informed, and restorative practices
  • Champions culturally responsive teaching, integrating te reo Māori and tikanga Māori in everyday learning
  • Supports staff through collaboration, mentoring, and professional growth
  • Contributes actively to our vision of empowering learners through quality education in an inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and support for your syndicate team
  • Ensure planning, assessment, and teaching reflect high expectations and meet diverse learner needs
  • Promote wellbeing, positive behaviour for learning (PB4L), and restorative approaches
  • Lead aspects of curriculum development, including structured approaches to literacy and numeracy
  • Uphold and model Dargaville Primary’s vision, values, and commitment to partnership with whānau and community.
