Lifewise is an innovative organisation working together with marginalised people to create better services and solutions to enable their full participation and ability to thrive.
The Whanau Resilience initiative aims to create strong, resilient communities where whanau are supported to live violence free and to eliminate the effects of violence for the next generation.
Lifewise have designed and develop a strength based, whanau led programme which is informed by the need to :
- Strengthen cultural identity and whakapapa.
- Strengthen social capability and community connection.
- Support trauma healing and recovery from violence.
- Create healthy relationships and skills within effected whanau.
- Support long term behaviour change for men and people using violence.
As the Whanau Resilience Co-ordinator, you will be based within the Community And Family Services team and will work with whanau effected by family harm whoa re based in the Waitemata Police District.

What You’re Responsible For
Co-ordinating and facilitating the Lifewise Whānau Resilience Programme, including managing participant engagement and the session content, planning and delivery.Evaluating and iterating the programme with the emerging knowledges evidencedCollection of data, keeping accurate records and providing regular reportsDeveloping and maintaining relationships with a collaborative engagement lens with the West Takiwa and other community and sector organizationsEnsuring service delivery aligns with Lifewise goals and objectives.Supporting and developing engagement processes that ensure the active participation of marginalised groups who have experienced family harm.Understand the position of Māori as the tangata whenua. Commitment to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and an openness to understanding the application of the articles of Te Tiriti in the context of The Lifewise Trust.Promotes a culture where health and safety is seen as integral to success through planning, delivery, monitoring and review of health and safety processes.Note : The above performance standards are provided as a guide only. What Skills & Experience You Need
Innovative thinking, being able to iterate learnings as they develop.Understanding of and experience of working with a Maori world view, including Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Tikanga and Te Reo.Ability to support and facilitate whanau -led initiatives.Proven ability to innovate and develop new solutions to complex issues.Excellent relationship and communication skills (verbal, written and computer literacy)Patience, creativity, flexibility, compassion, and sensitivity to a person with experience of family harm, both current and historical.Professionalism, accountability, and a willingness to work alongside the whanau, the manager, and the wider team.A “whatever it takes” approach to best outcomes for whanau.Qualification and / or experience in a related field.#J-18808-Ljbffr
