An exciting Part-Time Legal Counsel opportunity with a respected New Zealand organization based in Auckland, supporting the Head of Legal.
The role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, values flexibility, and wants to help build and scale the legal function with proactive risk management and commercially sound advice.
What you'll do
Design and implement robust legal processes, workflows, and templates to streamline operations and ensure consistency across all business units.
Develop and maintain an effective legal matter management system that supports knowledge sharing through contract repositories, FAQs, and playbooks.
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts while supporting contract lifecycle management and approvals for diverse business needs.
Provide timely legal advice on consumer law matters including CGA, FTA, privacy issues, advertising regulations, and compliance requirements relevant to New Zealand legislation.
Identify potential legal risks within business initiatives or ongoing operations and proactively develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
Assist in developing, updating, and communicating internal policies while supporting governance initiatives such as board reporting and director training.
What you bring
Experience using legal technology platforms or participating in process improvement projects is advantageous for driving operational efficiencies within the department.
