Cafe / Restaurant Manager

Cafe / Restaurant, is a vibrant and popular cafe dedicated to providing exceptional service and

creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers. We are currently seeking a dynamic

and experienced Cafe Manager to join our team and contribute to the continued success of

our establishment. Our cafe, situated in Masterton, operates every day, including public

holidays, from 7 : 00 am to 8 : 00 pm, and weekend work is an essential part of this role.

Job Description :

As a Cafe manager, you will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the

cafe. Your responsibilities will include :

 Oversee the day-to-day operations of the café to ensure smooth and efficient service.

 Collaborate with the Chef or Cook to plan and update menus.

 Recruit, supervise, train, and motivate both front-of-house and kitchen staff.

 Prepare staff rosters and monitor attendance to ensure adequate coverage at all

times.

 Monitor stock levels, place orders, and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.

 Manage daily cash flow, operate POS systems, and handle banking procedures.

 Ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety, and licensing regulations.

 Oversee customer service standards and resolve any customer issues promptly and

professionally.

 Monitor sales performance, control costs, and assist with budgeting and profitability.

 Coordinate marketing activities, seasonal promotions, and community events to

enhance business growth

Qualifications :

 At least 6 months of experience in a café, restaurant, or hospitality setting (in New

Zealand or overseas).

 Diploma Level Qualification or higher

 Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

 Knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene practices.

 Must need Barista skills will be an advantage and knowledge of food.
