We have 5 levels of Te Reo Maori at our kura, all classes are connected by the tuakana / teina relationships of our atua wahine.
This position will grow the success of our reo Maori classes, as well as work alongside our kahui Maori - Maori student council to support kaupapa Maori through-out our school.
We welcome any kaiako with connections, skills and ideas to share.ResponsibilitiesProvide high-quality teaching of Te Reo Maori to students in Y9-13.Contribute to the development of te reo Maori curriculum and student engagement.Collaborate with kahui Maori, staff, and whanau to support kaupapa Maori across the school.Support rangatahi leadership development and participate in kapa haka, hakinakina where appropriate.Qualifications and desirable attributesA teaching qualificationAbility to converse in and teach Te Reo MaoriEnjoy working with rangatahiAbility to build relationships with tauira, whanau, school staff and communityExperience with Kapa Haka, Hakinakina and fostering Maori leadership is an advantage.Terms and start dateThis is a full-time, fixed-term maternity cover position, beginning in October
