Position : Clinical Leader in

Radiology (Consultant Radiologist)

Location :

Wellington Regional Hospital and Kenepuru Hospital

Service :

Radiology Service - Capital & Coast

Contract : Permanent,

with Clinical Lead time approximately 16 hours per week, and remaining hours as

a Consultant Radiologist, designed to meet MCNZ & Immigration requirements.

About the role

We're seeking

an experienced and forward thinking Clinical Leader to shape the future of our

Radiology services.

This is a dynamic and multifaceted role, blending clinical

excellence with strategic leadership.

You'll be instrumental in driving service

quality, innovation, and integrated patient care.

In this role, you will :

  • Provide visionary clinical leadership across our Radiology

services

  • Drive service development, workforce planning, and continuous
  • quality improvement

  • Deliver expert radiology services, including diagnostic or
  • interventional procedures and participation in on-call rosters

  • Support the next generation of Radiologists through teaching and
  • supervision in our RANZCR-accredited training program

  • Foster collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to deliver
  • seamless, patient-centred careThis is an

    Our

    Radiology Service operates across Wellington Regional Hospital, a tertiary centre,

    and Kenepuru Hospital, offering a wide range of diagnostic and interventional

    imaging.

    The team includes Consultant Radiologists, Registrars, MITs, and

    Sonographers, with a strong emphasis on teaching, professional growth, and

    regional collaboration.

    As part of

    our digital innovation journey, Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley will soon host

    two of New Zealand's first Photon Counting CT (PCCT) scanners - operational at

    Kenepuru Hospital now, Wellington Hospital in mid-

    This advanced

    technology will transform cardiac, neuro, vascular and Paediatric diagnostics,

    delivering sharper scans and revealing subtle abnormalities previously

    undetectable.

    Capital, Coast &

    Hutt Valley District is located centrally in Wellington and has

    over 6,000 full-time equivalent staff, making us one of the major employers in

    the Wellington region.

    We operate three hospitals ' Wellington Regional

    Hospital in Newtown, Hutt

    Valley Hospital and Kenepuru Hospital in Porirua ' as well as the Kapiti Health

    Centre at Paraparaumu.

    About you

    This position requires an experienced senior Radiologist

    who is passionate about ensuring high quality care for our communities.

    The

    successful applicant will be flexible, enthusiastic about innovation, motivated

    to work in partnership with other providers and organisations, and committed to

    ensuring equitable access to services and equitable outcomes for our patients.

  • Vocationally registered in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology with
  • the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)

  • OR be able to register for vocational registration with the MCNZ
  • Holds FRANZCR or equivalent qualification
  • Subspecialty expertise is valued - such as musculoskeletal (MSK),
  • interventional, paediatrics, or breast imaging

  • Be able to provide consistently high standards of medical care and
  • leadership direction

  • Possess the relevant experience, skills and clinical and leadership
