Carpenter

We are seeking a Carpenter to join our busy team in Hamilton. This is a full-time role (minimum of 30 hours a week, maximum 45 hours per week).

The Role

Day-to-day work may include, but not be limited to :

Study the specifications in blueprints, sketches or building plans

Prepare the project layout and determine the dimensions

Select and order timber and other materials

Remove, repair or discard damaged or worn parts, equipment or materials

Cut shapes / assemble pieces and fits timber parts to form structures and fittings

Ensure that the prepared items are suitable for NZ conditions

Ensure customers’ requirements are met

Estimate the required materials

Select and order materials and tools

Follow established safety rules and regulations

Any other related tasks may be assigned from time to time by the employer

Our successful applicants will have :

Works well under pressure

Diploma or above qualification in carpentry or at least 2 years’ relevant work experience may substitute the qualification.
