Kōwhai Ora is a charitable trust providing trauma-informed, peer-led support for wāhine, rangatahi, and whānau impacted by family harm. We deliver online peer support groups and workshops that create safe, accessible spaces for connection, healing, and growth.

The Role

We are seeking Peer Support Co-Facilitators to help deliver our online support groups. This role is always co-facilitated with a registered social worker or counsellor — volunteers are never expected to lead sessions alone. Facilitators bring their lived experience and / or community services background to create supportive, healing spaces for participants.

Key responsibilities

• Co-facilitate online peer support groups (approx. 60 minutes each, plus prep and reflection).
• Welcome participants, support group agreements, and guide safe discussions.
• Model empathy, listening, and peer support values.
• Provide feedback and reflections to strengthen programme delivery.
