Overview

The Marketing Coordinator will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing a unified communication strategy for a not-for-profit dedicated to youth suicide prevention among Inuit, Indigenous, and racialized youth. This part-time, remote contract position requires a culturally sensitive approach to storytelling and outreach, ensuring all content and messaging authentically reflect the voices and resilience of Northern youth. The successful candidate will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to amplify the organization’s mission, manage content across multiple digital platforms, and coordinate with local organizations, schools, and media partners to maximize impact.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a cohesive community communication strategy in collaboration with selected vendors and partners.
  • Create, schedule, and publish engaging content across Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and the organization’s blog / website.
  • Write press releases, stories, and updates that highlight the organization’s mission and impact.
  • Collaborate with designers to produce visual assets using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools.
  • Track and analyze communication analytics to refine strategies and improve engagement.
  • Coordinate outreach efforts with local organizations, schools, and media partners.
  • Ensure all communications maintain a consistent, culturally grounded tone that centers Northern youth voices.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in social media management, content creation, and digital communications, preferably within the nonprofit or youth advocacy sector.
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency with Facebook Business Manager, Klaviyo, and major social media platforms.
  • Experience using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design tools to create visual content.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Deep understanding of Inuit, Indigenous, and racialized youth communities, with a commitment to culturally grounded communication.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a remote, part-time contract setting.
  • Analytical mindset with experience tracking and interpreting digital engagement metrics.
