This is Te Tumu Paeroa, guardian, support and advancer of the mana of Maori land everywhere.
Our role is to provide professional trustee services for Maori.
We do this by carrying out the terms of trusts and ensuring the whenua is protected and enhanced for future generations.
He angitutanga : About the Role :
Based in Whanganui, this Trust Advisor is responsible for managing a portfolio of trusts.
We seek a high-calibre candidate capable of maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the affairs of each trust within their assigned portfolio and ensuring high standards of service delivery
In this role, your responsibilities will include :
T he provision of trust services to deliver professional trustee services for various portfolio
Facilitate successful meetings with Trustees, key stakeholders in line with relevant process and tikanga.
Act as the primary Te Tumu Paeroa contact for Trustees and owners within the assigned portfolio.
Delivery of meeting outputs, including invitations, documentation and follow-up activities
Provide advice and guidance concerning trusts associated with various portfolios.
Support your Manager, Team Leader and colleagues through complex, emerging and real issues.
Preparation and review of Maori Land Court applications
Collaboration with Te Tumu Paeroa teams, to prepare for and attend Maori Land Court hearings (on behalf of the Maori Trustee).
Proven experience applying best practice trust management.
A strong team player, who can collaborate and assist to help the team function well
Skills in building and fostering strong internal and external relationships.
Demonstrated ability to apply applicable law, principles and practices.
Presentable for court and confident in appearing at Maori Land Court hearings.
Confidence and ability to deliver services that enhance the reputation of Te Tumu Paerora and the Maori Trustee.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Good time management and organisation skills.
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office and confident with computer systems.
Experience or an understanding of the rural sector is a plus.
Pae Toru- Te Mau me Te Whakahoki | An understanding of Te Reo Maori and the ability to answer and converse in the language.
A desire and ability to practise correct pronunciation of Te Reo Maori (desired).
Pae Toru- Te Ao Wairua | An understanding and living of Tikanga Maori on an Ao Wairua level.
Knowing and practising things such as karanga, whaikorero, whakapapa, karakia tahito and moteatea (desired)
Eligibility to work in New Zealand is essential.
