We're looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our team at New Plymouth District Council . In this role, you'll support the day‑to‑day catering operations, including food preparation, coffee service, and customer interaction. You'll help create a welcoming and professional environment for council staff and visitors, ensuring every experience is smooth and memorable. This is a casual position where hours of work are "as and when" required basis.

• Operate the coffee bar, prepare and serve drinks, and maintain espresso equipment.
• Assist with food preparation, portioning, and presentation for service.
• Deliver warm, friendly customer service and respond to requests promptly.
• Maintain clean and hygienic kitchen and dining areas, including stock rotation and waste handling.
• Operate the cash register and follow Compass Group's cash handling procedures.
