Guidance counsellorWakatipu High School is seeking a qualified and experienced school guidance counsellor.

The role is a therapeutic counselling position (not career / education guidance).

The successful candidate will have a growth mindset and a proven ability to form effective professional relationships with students, staff, parents and the community to support students on their journey through WHS and beyond.Location : Queenstown, Wakatipu Basin.

Start date : 21 January 2026.

End date : 10 December 2026.

Status : Full time, Fixed term (Parental leave).

ResponsibilitiesProvide therapeutic counselling to students within a school setting.Support students on their wellbeing, mental health and personal development.Collaborate with staff, parents and the community to support student progress.Work within the school's vision of student-centred, collaborative practice.QualificationsQualified school guidance counsellor with relevant regulatory credentials.Experience in building relationships with students, staff and families.Ability to work in a team and contribute to school-wide wellbeing initiatives.State any teaching subjects (if applicable).
