Overview
Are you a junior Site Reliability Engineer eager to expand your DevOps skills while supporting an AI-driven, cloud-native platform?
A remote-first technology company headquartered in Auckland is looking for a proactive Junior SRE to help keep its large-scale, Kubernetes-based services observable, available, and deployable.
You'll work closely with senior engineers, gain hands-on experience with AWS, Terraform, and CI / CD pipelines, and play a key part in improving infrastructure that powers advanced digital-human experiences worldwide.
Responsibilities
Troubleshooting and triaging platform issues, prioritising fixes, and communicating status to internal and external stakeholders
Following SRE best practices to enhance reliability, scalability, and observability
Maintaining and improving cloud infrastructure using AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker, and related tooling
Contributing to CI / CD pipeline maintenance and optimisation
Writing clear documentation for infrastructure, tooling, and team processes
Gradually taking ownership of specific infrastructure components as your independence grows
Requirements
1–2 years in a DevOps, system administration, or junior engineering role
Solid Linux skills and familiarity with Git and basic networking concepts
Ability to script or program in at least one language (Python, Go, Bash, etc.)
Eagerness to learn new technologies and adapt in a fast-moving environment
Strong problem-solving mindset, self-motivation, and a collaborative attitude
Prior remote-work experience and knowledge of Terraform, Docker, or Kubernetes are a plus
This full-time, permanent position is open to candidates based in New Zealand (remote or Auckland-hybrid).
