Job description

Design a seamless and visually engaging Shopify store for a food retail business as a UX / UI Designer – Contract. The project is remote and offers the opportunity to shape the digital presence of a growing company, with potential for future collaboration on additional projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement UX and UI designs for a new Shopify store, tailored to the food retail sector
  • Conduct user research and analyze customer journeys to inform design decisions
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups for desktop and mobile experiences
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business goals and translate them into effective design solutions
  • Ensure the store design aligns with brand identity and enhances the overall customer experience
  • Optimize site navigation, product pages, and checkout flow for usability and conversion
  • Test and iterate on designs based on feedback and analytics
  • Stay updated on Shopify platform capabilities and e-commerce design best practices

Skills and Requirements

  • Proven experience designing UX and UI for Shopify stores, preferably in e-commerce or food retail
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in user-centered design and visual aesthetics
  • Proficiency with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD
  • Solid understanding of Shopify’s theme structure, customization, and app integrations
  • Ability to conduct user research and usability testing
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet project deadlines
  • Experience working remotely with companies or clients
  • Availability for a single project with potential for future work
