Wine Hosts

Te Mata Estate is expanding our Visitor Experience programme and we’re looking for energetic, curious people to join our team. From November to February, you’ll be part of sharing world-class Hawke’s Bay wine with visitors from around the globe.

If you love wine, hospitality, and connecting with people, this is your chance to turn that passion into something special. You’ll be :

The Roles

An Estate Host

The welcoming face of Te Mata Estate. You’ll manage guest reservations and experiences, lead our Visitor Experience team, and ensure everything runs seamlessly – from coordinating tastings to encouraging wine sales and club sign-ups. Hospitality or Front of House experience is key (think bar / restaurant, café service, or cellar door management).

Wine Hosts

The storytellers. You’ll bring our wines and estate to life through tastings, tours, and heritage experiences. If you’ve worked in cellar doors, guiding, tourism, hospitality or retail, and love engaging with people – this is your perfect fit.

Hospitality, tourism, or wine qualifications are a plus, but not essential – a passion for wine, teamwork, and engaging with customers is.

The Details

The busy season runs November ’25 to February ‘26

Open 7 days : 10am–5pm (Mon–Sat), 11am–4pm (Sun)

Full-time and part-time roles available

Availability to work weekends and public holidays essential
