Te aheinga : The opportunity

As a Lecturer in Animal Care and Health at Unitec, you will teach both theoretical and practical skills in animal care and management within the School of Environmental and Animal Sciences. You'll engage students in dynamic classrooms while also guiding them at Te Puna Kararehe, our specialised Animal Behaviour and Husbandry Centre.

This role requires some evening and occasional weekend teaching, particularly for our flagship NZ Certificate in Animal Care program, which includes distance learning and night classes.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach and assess animal care and management courses primarily within the NZ Certificate in Animal Care.
• Deliver high-quality classroom and practical vocational learning across programmes in the School of Environmental and Animal Sciences.
• Provide engaging and effective educational experiences for students.
• Contribute to course administration, school activities, and stakeholder engagement.
• Support research initiatives and maintain a commitment to excellence in learning and teaching.
