As we grow our fundraising and partnerships programme, we're looking for an energetic, organised, and creative Donor Engagement Coordinator to join our small, dedicated team.
About the Role
This is a broad, hands-on role ideal for someone with solid fundraising experience who's ready to take the next step.
You'll support the planning and delivery of campaigns, donor communications, and engagement initiatives — helping us to build meaningful relationships with supporters and grow income across multiple streams.
You'll work across individual giving, regular giving, bequests, digital campaigns, and grants, while ensuring our supporters receive excellent care and communication.
You'll also manage donor data (Infoodle), coordinate appeals, and play a key role in the day-to-day running of our fundraising programme.
It's a varied role with scope to use and develop your project management, donor communications, data, and campaign coordination skills — all while contributing to a cause that makes a real difference in people's lives.
Key Responsibilities
Support the delivery of donor acquisition, retention, and engagement activities across multiple fundraising streams.
Coordinate and produce fundraising and stewardship communications, including appeals, newsletters, emails, and digital content.
Manage donor data and reporting in Infoodle, ensuring accurate records and smooth donation processing.
Provide excellent donor stewardship – helping ensure every supporter feels valued and appreciated.
Assist with grant research, applications, and reporting.
Contribute to continuous improvement in fundraising processes, donor journeys, and supporter experience.
Take ownership of project-based tasks and collaborate on new initiatives that help grow income and impact.
About You
You'll bring a mix of creativity, organisation, and empathy — with a genuine desire to make a difference through meaningful work.
You may already have experience in fundraising, marketing, or communications, and you're looking for a role that offers both variety and purpose.
You'll also have
3-5 years' experience in fundraising and donor relations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organisational skills, with attention to detail and follow-through
Experience using a CRM (Infoodle or similar) and comfort working with data and spreadsheets
A collaborative approach and willingness to pitch in wherever needed
Creativity and confidence to contribute ideas for improving donor engagement and campaign performance
Alignment with the mission and values of Hospital Chaplaincy Aotearoa
Desirable
Graphic design skills (e.g., Canva or Adobe Creative Suite)
