N2 Naval Architect
to join the team based in
Devonport, Auckland
Marine Industrial Design (MID) is a New Zealand based Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering design consultancy with a reputation for providing practical and proven marine design engineering solutions to our clients.
As a wholly owned subsidiary of Babcock (NZ) Limited, MID complements and supports the Babcock's commercial and naval engineering capabilities within New Zealand.

Your strong grasp of marine regulations and design principles ensures compliance and innovation in every project.
Skilled in CAD tools and engineering software, you deliver accurate outputs under pressure.
You communicate effectively, mentor others, and maintain client relationships with professionalism.

Key Required Skills
Naval architecture design and analysis
Knowledge of marine regulations and classification standards
Proficiency in CAD and engineering design software
Strong analytical and report-writing skills
Project management and resource planning
Leadership and mentoring capability
Effective communication (written and oral)
Problem-solving under time constraints
Key Required Qualifications
Degree in Naval Architecture or equivalent
3–5 years marine engineering design experience
Familiarity with multidisciplinary design office practices
Membership of an engineering body (desirable)
