As a Wake-Over Night Support Worker, you’ll play a key role in supporting Tangata Whaiora in our residential service after dark. You’ll provide safety, guidance, and consistent support to help people make positive choices and progress toward successfully transitioning back into the community.
This is not a 9–5 role, you’ll offer wraparound, overnight support, coach people through evening and night routines, and ensure their wellbeing throughout your shift. You’ll work closely with clinical, residential, educational, and administrative colleagues, with strong handovers between shifts to keep everyone connected and informed.
You’ll receive regular supervision, debriefing, and comprehensive training, including MAPA, de-escalation, sensory modulation, first aid, and fire safety.
This role is permanent full-time working from 11.00pm to 7.30am Monday to Friday.
You’ll have life experience, patience, empathy and wisdom to share with the ability to do so in a way that engages Tangata Whaiora. You’ll be the type of person that can instantly build rapport with people who have experienced trauma and you can redirect unhelpful behaviour. Additionally, you'll have plenty of resilience and you don't take things personally. Your initiative and proactive approach will be highly valued in your day-to-day work. You'll also need :
