Executive Opportunity : Managing Director - NZ / Fiji
Are you a visionary leader ready for a role that requires an intense people focus as well as a high level of commercial acumen? We are seeking an exceptional managing director to take the helm of our operations across New Zealand and Fiji for a large multi‑national corporate. This is a critical, high‑impact role sitting on the executive leadership team within the Pacific business. It requires a proven leader with full Profit & Loss (P&L) accountability for delivering ambitious growth, financial results, and a healthy culture within a fast‑paced B2B service industry.
This position is suitable for someone who has run a New Zealand business or a significant division within a large New Zealand business. Must have a commercial background in the blue‑collar sector where you have managed large, geographically dispersed teams. Experience in a global multi‑national is helpful but not essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Culture : Lead the organisation to create a positive, engaging culture and deliver exceptional service to customers. Ensure that a positive, people‑focused and performance‑driven culture is cascaded through all levels of the organisation.
- Business Performance : Establish key business drivers and performance metrics to deliver the short‑to‑medium business plan. Own the full P&L and deliver against cash targets.
- Strategy & Growth : Build a focused strategy, leveraging the strengths of the global organisation to deliver further growth in revenue and profit.
- Customer Excellence : Personally role‑model customer service standards and ensure outstanding customer retention is achieved in all areas.
- Governance & Compliance : Deliver on non‑financial targets including Health & Safety performance, staff retention, and service levels. Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, staying abreast of local regulatory requirements. Embrace the highest standards for ethics, values and culture.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential Experience
Leadership : Has led large teams across a complex business of scale (c$100m revenue) with multiple sites. Has a track record of delivering growth in both revenue and profit. Has credibility and standing to engage with senior management, customers and external bodies.Functional Experience : Has experience in creating and executing against strategic plans. Has operated in a service‑focused environment. Energised by business development, with sound commercial acumen. Experienced in managing local vs global priorities in a multinational operation. Has some experience with M&A.Sector Experience : Has operated in a B2B environment with an ability to manage through intermediaries. Brings a network of contacts within NZ business industrial and / or government sectors.Core Competencies
