This role offers an exciting opportunity for a talented illustrator to bring a new children's book project to life, aimed at readers aged 6–10. The project blends vibrant, whimsical illustration with playful and meaningful storytelling, encouraging imagination, cognitive flexibility, and a celebration of cultural diversity. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio in children's illustration, a flair for dynamic characters, and the ability to visually narrate stories that resonate with young audiences. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary creative team, contributing to a project that draws inspiration from Nordic traditions, folk rituals, and fantasy worlds. Responsibilities

Create original, expressive illustrations for a children’s book project, ensuring visual consistency and alignment with the project’s themes
Develop dynamic characters and scenes that engage and inspire children aged 6–10
Collaborate with writers, musicians, and designers to integrate illustration with music and interactive storytelling elements
Incorporate feedback from the creative team to refine artwork and enhance narrative impact
Deliver high‑quality, print‑ready artwork according to project milestones and deadlines
Contribute creative ideas to support the project’s focus on cultural diversity and imaginative play

Skills & Requirements

Proven experience as a children’s book illustrator, cover artist, or similar role, with a portfolio showcasing whimsical, expressive styles and bold use of color

Strong storytelling instincts and ability to convey emotion and narrative visually

Experience working on creative platforms and collaborating within multidisciplinary teams

Familiarity with children’s media, educational games, or cross‑cultural themes is a plus

Proficiency in digital illustration tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Procreate, or similar)

Excellent communication skills and openness to feedback

Ability to work remotely and manage deliverables independently

Availability to commit to project milestones and deadlines
