Position Title : People and Culture Business Partner

Location : Bay of Plenty

Team : People, Culture and Wellbeing

Position Type : Permanent, Full-time

Remuneration : $105,518 – $131,897 (Fixed remuneration excluding KiwiSaver)

Are you passionate about creating an exceptional kaimahi experience and supporting leaders to build a thriving, inclusive workplace? We have an exciting opportunity for a People and Culture Business Partner to join our People Culture and Wellbeing team

In this role, you will partner with leaders to ensure people strategies align with organisational priorities, while fostering a strong, adaptive culture that supports growth and innovation. You will play a key role in raising capability, delivering people centric solutions that improve both individual and organisational performance,

  • Partner with leaders and managers to provide expert advice across all people and culture areas, including employment relations, industrial relations, union engagement, remuneration, recruitment, onboarding, retention, and performance management.
  • Build strong, values led relationships with leaders, managers and kaimahi, delivering a customer focused approach that supports organisational priorities.
  • Coach and mentor managers to raise capability and confidence in people leadership practices.
  • Support change management processes, ensuring outcomes are delivered sensitively and inclusively.
  • Deliver and implement frameworks, policies, and standards, ensuring consistency and best practice across the organisation.
  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, embedding these principles into all aspects of the kaimahi experience.
  • Deliver people and culture initiatives aligned with Toi Ohomai strategic priorities, providing insights that enable continuous improvement.
  • Champion Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles, supporting leaders to grow a culturally responsive and inclusive workforce.

You’ll be an experienced HR professional who thrives on building strong relationships and influencing positive outcomes. You bring :

  • A degree in Human Resources or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Extensive and proven experience partnering with leaders on people and culture initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of employment relations, industrial relations, and HR best practice.
  • Experience working collaboratively with union partners.
  • Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and experience embedding equity and inclusion.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
