Intermediate Software Developer

We’re a Queenstown based startup building out our existing engineering team. We’re on the lookout for energetic individuals who love the idea of helping the owners and managers of the hospitality industry, by delivering them a software platform that helps them build a great business and gives their staff an even better place to do great work.

We are looking for an Intermediate Full Stack Engineer to join our Queenstown based team and slot straight into an existing squad. This role involves developing and maintaining scalable, high-performance software using modern technologies.

The ideal candidate is a passionate coder who loves using technology to solve problems for end-users. You’ll be well-versed in full stack development, and ideally have some experience with C# / ASP.NET Core and React. You’ll love the idea of solving hard problems by taking some initial direction and then using your initiative to figure out the rest.

We’re moving quickly, and getting a lot done with a lean, high-performance team. We’re focused on keeping a tight and efficient group of A+ players, so there will be plenty of opportunities to specialise and grow within the company.

That's when Loaded was born – out of a genuine need to solve real problems that we ourselves were facing in the hospitality industry. What started as an in-house solution to our challenges soon became a groundbreaking platform, shaping success not only for us but for thousands of customers in New Zealand and Australia.

Your responsibilities :

• Actively participating in development team project refinement, build, and release activities and processes.
• Contributing to the effective delivery of your squad’s projects, and coordinating with other team members to make this as efficient as possible.
• Solving engineering problems and developing complex features with the support of your squad.
• Developing robust, scalable, and secure web applications using React, MUI, C#, ASP.NET, Entity Framework, SqlServer, and other technologies.
• Creating and extending inhouse APIs, and partaking in integration with third‑party APIs.
• Working with databases, including writing optimised queries, schema design, and managing migrations.
• Peer review of code changes, providing feedback on work from other team members and responding to feedback received.
• Creation and execution of automated and manual tests for the Loaded software platform to ensure quality is maintained.
• Clearly communicating progress, blockers, and risks on allocated work to team members and managers.
• Producing documentation to enable knowledge transfer within the team.

We will also consider remote work for the right candidate.
