The Board is a Responsible Authority under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act
The purpose of the Board is to protect the health and safety of members of the public by ensuring that medical imaging and radiation therapy practitioners are fit and competent to practise.
You will be committed to improving the health of New Zealanders, through contribution to the governance of the Board's legislative requirements.

Appointments to the Board are made by the Associate Minister of Health Hon Matt Doocey, typically for terms of up to three years.
Members can be reappointed for up to nine consecutive years.

In this instance, we are particularly looking to receive applications from medical imaging and radiation therapy candidates who can represent the perspectives of Maori, Pacific people, and people with lived experience of a disability.

It would be helpful if you have a good understanding of the scopes of practice, competencies and code of ethical conduct for medical imaging and radiation therapy practitioners, and we welcome applicants who have experience in the clinical practice, management or quality sector, or applicants who are early in their clinical career.
