Day One Hapai te Haeata Trust Board Member - Partnerships and Fundraising Specialist

We are looking for a volunteer Trust Board Member to join the board of Connected Media Charitable Trust and help the organisation reach our fundraising goals.

Connected Media runs Day One Hapai te Haeata – Stories for a better tomorrow, a nationwide programme that supports rangatahi by providing the tools, guidance and opportunities to share stories on screen for young people in film.

Our operational base is in Tamaki Makaurau.

We have recently launched exciting new branding, making it the perfect time to join an organisation full of heart and vision.

While we already have strong board representation in the areas of film, government funding, education, business and accounting, we would benefit from the wisdom of a savvy connector to support the team in developing a diverse range of income-generating activities, including identifying and forming new partnerships, securing sponsorships and other general fundraising initiatives.

Key Purpose of the Role

Develop and / or improve income generating activities.

Use personal networks to create connections that could lead to funding relationships.

Coach the Day One leadership team and other trustees in effective fundraising techniques.

Define leadership roles, create plans, policies and uphold high ethical standards.

Maintain a longer-term focus and a helicopter view of the organisation's fundraising strategy.

Monitor and hold management accountable.

Expected Hours of Commitment

6 board meetings per year (2 hours each).

1 hour pre-reading per meeting.

Up to 10 hours a month advocating for the organisation and helping to grow income streams.
