The Information Systems & Technology (IST) Business Solutions and Planning team delivers strategic, high-quality business solutions to support the work of Parliament.
We ensure business applications are designed, maintained, and optimised to meet the needs of Members of Parliament, their staff, and partnering agencies.
Our team works closely with the Office of the Clerk, vendors, and internal IST teams to ensure that systems are fit for purpose, delivering productivity gains and supporting a modern, digital Parliament.
We champion collaboration, problem-solving, and customer-focused service across all projects.
Mo te tunga | About the Role
We're seeking a Business Analyst who builds genuine, trust-based relationships and is passionate about working with a diverse range of stakeholders.
You'll be a key connector, translating business needs into clear, actionable requirements and high-quality user stories that bridge the gap between business and technical teams.
You'll thrive in dynamic environments, confidently managing stakeholder expectations and fostering collaboration.
Your excellent communication skills will help you convey complex ideas simply, and you have curiosity for continuous learning.
You'll also support project delivery for systems used by the Office of the Clerk, including select committee platforms.
This includes requirements gathering, procurement support, UAT coordination, and go-live support.

Build trust-based relationships with business stakeholders and delivery teams.
Translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements and user stories.
Facilitate workshops and discussions to elicit and prioritise requirements.
Lead and participate in Agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives).
Support the design, testing, and implementation of digital systems to ensure they meet business and user expectations.
Maintain high-quality documentation and contribute to communities of practice.
Communicate requirements, decisions, and risks clearly and confidently.
Collaborate with technical teams to ensure solutions meet business needs and deliver value.
Contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture and continuous improvement.
