Responsibilities

As a Duty Lawyer supervisor in the Wellington region, you will report to the Wellington Public Defender.

Based at both the Porirua and Hutt Valley courts, you will be responsible for :

Leading the duty lawyer service at court on your rostered days.

Contributing to new initiatives and improvements to the service.

Establishing and maintaining excellent working relationships with all stakeholders.

O Pukenga / Skills And Experience

Be qualified to practise law in New Zealand

Have Provider Approval Level 1 or above, as well as Duty Lawyer Approval

Have proven credibility with Judges, peers and others in the legal community

Be comfortable as part of a team who support and rely on one another

Enjoy sharing legal expertise and exchanging ideas

Have empathy and the ability to relate to a wide range of people

Utu a-tau / Salary

The appointing salary for this role will be between $128,614 and $179,876, depending on skills and experience.
