Job Summary :

The Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation is seeking a full-time Home & Community Care Nurse.

Working within a client & family-centred health care delivery model, based on a philosophy of self-care management, and following the vision and values of the Family and Community Wellness Centre Inc., and in accordance with CRNM / CLPNM, Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics, and Manitoba Health.

The nurse will comply with practice standards, service delivery plans, and the delivery and evaluation of care needs for clients who are acutely, chronically, and terminally ill in community settings, initiating referrals as required.

Demonstrated Skills & Abilities :

Knowledge of and skill in acute care and community health nursing

Advanced nursing assessment and care plan maintenance skills

Ability to adapt clinical and professional skills to home and community settings

Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Ability to prioritize needs and organize work effectively

Effective verbal and written communication skills; speaking Cree is an asset

Qualifications :

Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba or the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba

Two years of experience as a Home Care Nurse or equivalent training, education, and experience

Knowledge of community-based programming and First Nations culture, traditions, and values is an asset

Valid Driver's License, BLS / CPR certification, and satisfactory criminal record and child abuse registry checks

Wound Care certification and foot care training are assets

Must possess a valid Manitoba Driver's License

Note : Criminal record check and Child Abuse Registry check are required for all FCWC positions.

If residing in Thompson, transportation is provided daily to and from Nelson House.

Salary :

Starting at $87,161.00 annually
