Retail Assistant

S & B MERCHANTS NZ LIMITED is looking for a Retail Assistant to join our liquor store in Kaikohe, Northland. The ideal candidate should be friendly, reliable, and committed to providing excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities :

• Greet customers in a friendly and polite manner and assist them during their visit.
• Provide basic information and recommendations about store products such as wines, beers, spirits, and RTDs.
• Help customers find what they need and ensure they have a pleasant shopping experience.
• Follow store procedures for checking ID and making sure alcohol sales comply with legal requirements.
• Keep shelves stocked, tidy, and well-presented at all times.
• Assist with receiving, unpacking, and organising stock on shelves.
• Check product expiry dates and report any low or damaged stock to the supervisor.
• Operate the till, process EFTPOS and cash payments accurately, and balance transactions at the end of the day.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation throughout the store, including shelves, counters, and storage areas.
• Help with store deliveries or moving stock when needed.
• Work well as part of a team to make sure the store runs smoothly and customers are satisfied.
• Perform other basic duties as directed by the store manager or supervisor.
