As our business moves to adopt the global continuous improvement / standardised processes of Integrated Work Systems (IWS), we have local teams focusing on introducing and supporting tools on specific lines.
Our Papakura manufacturing site is currently recruiting for an
IWS Maintenance Lead
to use technical knowledge, data and IWS tools to eliminate breakdown-related losses through root-causing and embedding counter-measures.
This permanent, waged role will be predominantly working the day shift but will require flexibility to support across all three shifts at the Papakura plant.
What you'll be responsible for :
Identifying, planning and implementing productivity initiatives and projects to effectively reduce downtime and improve OE and plant optimisation
Jointly responsible for motivating, guiding and supporting the training and qualification of operators and equipment owners in technical skills e.g. Equipment Ownership Roadmap
Supporting the operations teams with fixing major breakdowns
Reviewing and prioritising any reported incidents / stops of the last 24 hours, planning the maintenance and repair work for the next 24 hours and completing during scheduled downtime
Co-owning the repair budgets for the area in collaboration with the Line Lead & Engineering / Technical Manager
Ensuring all overdue work orders are updated, classified and processed according to urgency and priority (in conjunction with Maintenance Planner where applicable)
Preparing and leading the scheduling of the maintenance work for the next week
Actively participating in the preparation of the 90-day loss elimination plan with technical expertise
What you'll bring to the role :
You'll be a trade qualified fitter
2+ years of proven experience working in a food manufacturing environment
Proven experience working with computerised maintenance management systems
Excellent communication skills – you are great at keeping everyone in the loop!
A love of teamwork – you enjoy working with others and are always willing to lend a hand when needed
Positivity and a solutions-focused approach – nothing is ever a problem!
Initiative and ability to self-motivate and work unsupervised
Commitment to health and safety and ensuring that best practices are followed in the workplace
