Our APAC Transmission and Distribution offering encompasses a diverse range of technical specialisations including Transmission Lines & Cables, Earthing & Electromagnetics studies, Civil / Structural solutions, Infrastructure power and High Voltage (HV) Substations. Our comprehensive approach addresses the complex challenges of the energy transition, positioning Jacobs as a key partner in shaping the future of power generation and distribution.

Here’s what you’ll need

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Senior Associate or Lead Secondary Engineer to join our team in New Zealand. Jacobs HV Substation services support a wide range of clients, including utilities, independent power producers, industrial facilities, and government entities, helping them navigate the complexities of modern power systems and drive the transition towards a more resilient and sustainable energy infrastructure. In this enticing role you'll have the following areas of responsibility

Key areas of focus

• Secondary design for distribution and transmission systems between 22kV and 220kV.
• Development of Secondary engineering deliverables such as control and relay panel layouts and schematics, ODJB drawings, block diagrams and bill of materials (BOMs).
• Manage projects, ensuring timely delivery and budget adherence.
• Perform Secondary engineering design reviews.
• Mentor and develop engineers, growing our Substation Engineering capabilities.
• Engage positively with clients as a trusted technical advisor and contribute to business development with the ability to work across geographies.
