About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Data & AI Architect to join our Data, Analytics & AI practice in New Zealand.

In this strategic role, you will define and drive data architecture, design scalable and secure cloud-based solutions, and embed best practices across the data and AI ecosystem.

You will play a key role in shaping TCS's data-modernization journey for one of our strategic clients — enabling advanced analytics, AI / ML adoption, and data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Data Architecture : Define and enforce architecture principles, patterns, and standards across data, analytics, and AI platforms.

Solution Design : Design scalable, secure, and cost-optimized data solutions leveraging Azure, Databricks, Delta Lake, and Power BI.

Data Engineering Enablement : Establish and optimize data ingestion, transformation, and consumption frameworks for both batch and streaming pipelines.

Data Modelling & Warehousing : Develop and maintain logical, physical, and semantic data models supporting analytical, operational, and AI workloads.

AI & ML Integration : Collaborate with data scientists to architect end-to-end ML pipelines and enable MLOps for efficient model lifecycle management.

Data Governance : Embed privacy, lineage, metadata management, and data-quality principles within all architecture designs.

Stakeholder Collaboration : Partner with architects, data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate business objectives into robust data solutions.

Technical Leadership : Provide architectural guidance, mentor teams, and ensure alignment to enterprise standards.

Innovation & Optimization : Evaluate emerging technologies and propose innovative, cost-effective ways to strengthen the data ecosystem.

Skills & Experience

10+ years of experience in data, engineering, BI, and analytics, including at least 3 years in an architect or lead role.

Proven expertise in the Azure Data Platform (Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, Delta Lake, Purview, Power BI).

Strong knowledge of data-modelling techniques, data-warehouse design, and data-integration frameworks.

Experience designing and implementing AI / ML architectures and supporting production-scale model deployment (MLOps).

Understanding of data governance, lineage, cataloguing, and compliance.

Experience with both batch and streaming data architectures.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Prior experience in a consulting or client-facing environment is an advantage.
