We're looking for a Senior Procurement Advisor to join a values-driven Crown entity in Wellington that's dedicated to supporting communities across Aotearoa. You’ll shape strategy, drive commercial outcomes, and help deliver real value across the public sector. What you'll do :

As a Senior Procurement Advisor, you will be instrumental in driving the organisation’s procurement strategy forward by delivering expert guidance throughout every stage of the sourcing lifecycle. Your day-to-day responsibilities will see you collaborating with internal stakeholders at all levels—including executive leadership—while also engaging with external agencies and suppliers to build effective partnerships.

  • Develop strategic sourcing strategies & provide oversight and endorsement of best practice procurement processes, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, standards, policies, and guidelines.
  • Participate actively in the negotiation of frameworks, statements of work, and other agreements with suppliers and strategic partners to secure optimal terms.
  • Lead the creation of comprehensive procurement plans that address needs analysis, sourcing options, contract management, monitoring, and review.
  • Monitor service delivery providers through regular benchmarking activities and provide insightful feedback on supplier performance to management.
  • Work hand-in-hand with teams across the organisation to meet their unique needs.
  • What you bring :

    To excel as a Senior Procurement Advisor, your background should include substantial experience in procurement environments where you have demonstrated your ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Your proven track record in developing strategic sourcing strategies will be complemented by your deep understanding of contract law principles and commercial frameworks. You bring excellent interpersonal skills that enable you to build trust-based relationships with colleagues across all levels of the organisation as well as external partners. Your attention to detail ensures accuracy in documentation while your analytical mindset allows you to interpret data effectively for decision-making purposes.
