Project Manager - Fire Asset

About the Role

As the Project Manager you'll oversee the delivery of fire asset upgrades and compliance projects across the Central Region, within the Infrastructure and Investment Group (IIG).

You'll manage multiple capital works projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet Health NZ's high standards for safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Working closely with internal teams, contractors, and consultants to deliver fire systems that protect patients, staff, and facilities.

About the Team / Service / Location

The IIG team are focused on delivering high impact infrastructure investments that support the transformation of New Zealand's health system.

Giving support, oversight and assurance across projects and programmes, they understand that safe, fit for purpose health facilities, sites and equipment are essential for a well-functioning health system that improves the health of all New Zealanders.

You will bring :

• A degree in engineering, construction, or project management
• Certification in PMP®, PRINCE2, MSPTM, or similar
• 5+ years' experience managing capital projects, ideally in healthcare or government sectors
• Strong knowledge of NZ building codes and fire compliance standards
• Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships and contractor performance
• A practical, hands on approach with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
• Experience working in multicultural and diverse environments, with a strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) Act
