Assistant Gardener

Programmed is a leading provider of open space and full facility maintenance services. We're currently looking for an Assistant Gardener to join our passionate Hort team, with a start date in the New Year 2026.

About the Role

In this role, you'll look, learn, and act on the skills you're shown, assisting in the upkeep of a wide range of parks and street gardens. Your tasks will include :

• General garden maintenance of annual bedding, perennial beds, and mass plantings
• Re-veg areas, including pest, weed, and insect control
• Vegetation management, pruning, hedge trimming, line trimming, and mulching

With the right attitude, you'll receive the experience and training to progress to a Qualified Gardener role and grow your career in horticulture.

About You

• You have a passion for green spaces and enjoy working outdoors
• Previous horticulture experience is a bonus, but not essential
• You hold a clean New Zealand Class 1 driver's licence (full or restricted) and can drive manual vehicles
• You're willing to listen, learn, and apply your skills on site
• You're motivated to grow your career in the horticulture industry
