  • To support the management and delivery structure across the New Police Constabulary Recruitment Team we invite applications for Team Leader Selection Specialists.

    This role will have oversight of a team of Selection Specialists involved in Constabulary Recruitment.

    This role is based at Counties Manukau DHQ.The purpose of the Constabulary Recruitment Team is to recruit a highly capable and diverse workforce that meets the needs of our communities now and into the future.This is a pivotal role overseeing a team who selects individuals to become Constabulary members of NZ Police.

    The team leader is responsible for ensuring quality decisions are made, risk is identified managed and mitigated and that all decisions are made in a fair and transparent way.

    Key metrics include consistency of process and data management, problem-solving, teamwork, attention to detail, organisational ability and flexibility.It is essential that all our Team Leader roles operate collaboratively with their peers, to support the overall goals of the Constabulary Recruitment Team.The Team Leader will work, and manage relationships, with a range of internal and external stakeholders, be accountable for day-to-day team activities and results, as well as encouraging and enabling a learning culture to build capability and confidence.The Team Leader will also be required to support the Recruitment Manager with duties that provide support to the success of the workstream.Key AccountabilitiesExperience and knowledge leading teamsExperience managing and mitigating risk to ensure we hire the best talent in a fair, transparent and consistent wayHave outstanding relationship management skills and able to foster strong connection across multiple areas of the organisation, contributing to the reputation of Constabulary RecruitmentEffectively manage workflow at paceHave a service improvement mindset, with the know-how and drive and action accordinglyAddress any areas of non-compliance and / or performance issues across the team promptly and efficiently escalating as required to the Recruitment ManagerMaintain confidentiality and discretion when managing complex, sensitive, and confidential issues and / or informationBe open to, and if appropriate, act on feedbackHe aha taau e kawe mai | What you'll bringWhilst we are looking for skills, knowledge and experience relevant to the role, we also place high importance on your state of mind, the alignment of your values with ours,your ability to contribute to and build high performing teams, and the way that you lead yourself or others.Current CPK at the rank of the vacancy you are applying for (Constabulary only).
