Bay of Islands College is seeking a dynamic and passionate leader of learning for our Technology Faculty, preferably with experience teaching hard materials engineering, who can lead and inspire the delivery of subjects across the full technology curriculum.
We are looking for an innovative educator who demonstrates a commitment to high standards of achievement and has proven success working effectively with Maori students.
The successful applicant will be digitally literate and confident in a fully digital learning environment.
Essential experience and skills
Proven ability to deliver inquiry-based learning and curriculum design aligned with NCEA Levels 1–3 and Competenz Levels 1–3 Unit Standards
Demonstrated leadership in curriculum development and assessment practices
Commitment to culturally responsive and relational pedagogy.
Preferred attributes
Trained and qualified teacher with current New Zealand teacher registration
Relevant qualification in engineering
Ability to motivate, inspire, and engage young people in learning
Genuine empathy and understanding of adolescents, particularly Maori students
Willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school beyond the classroom.
