At Vessev, we’re defining a new category of marine transport : hydrofoiling electric vessels that are genuinely better for people and the planet. To make this possible, we rely on a strong team, a supportive environment, and an office and build facility that runs seamlessly. We’re looking for an Office Manager to be the heartbeat of our workplace. This is a hands-on role where you’ll keep our HQ running smoothly, support the team day-to-day, and ensure Vessev is presented in the best light – both internally and externally. You’ll be directly involved in the details that make our workplace exceptional, while also supporting leadership and cross-team coordination.

What you’ll do

As Office Manager, you’ll take ownership of day-to-day operations at Vessev HQ, including :

  • Interior maintenance : Keeping offices, common areas, gardens, and furnishings clean, organized, and well-presented.
  • Event planning : Helping organise company events and team gatherings.
  • Travel logistics : Help arrange travel, accommodation and transfers for team members and customers
  • Inventory and provisioning : Managing supplies, tools, and equipment to ensure the team has what they need.
  • Face of Vessev : Greeting and assisting guests, visitors, and partners with professionalism and warmth.
  • Team onboarding : Supporting onboarding, training, and smooth integration of new hires.
  • Staff services : Coordinating PPE, training, and workplace support to ensure staff are safe, equipped, and cared for.
  • Financial administration : Assisting with budgeting, purchasing, and expense tracking.
  • Executive support : Assisting with inbox management, meeting scheduling, and coordination across time zones.
  • Liaison : Acting as the point of contact between departments and the executive team for office needs and support.

Essential Skills

  • Service mindset : Anticipating and fulfilling the needs of staff, guests, and partners.
  • Organisational excellence : Managing multiple priorities while keeping processes clear and efficient.
  • Leadership qualities : The confidence to guide, motivate, and support others when needed.
  • Attention to detail : Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and professionalism.
  • Adaptability : Staying calm and resourceful in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Communication skills : Building strong relationships across all levels of the business.
  • Experience

    Required

  • 3–5 years’ experience in office management, operations, administration, or a similar role.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage facilities, supplies, and vendors.
  • Proven experience handling budgets, purchasing, or financial administration.
  • Strong proficiency in Google Workspace, Slack, and scheduling / meeting tools.
  • Experience providing administrative or executive support.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Bonus Experience

  • Background in superyachts, elite sports teams, or other high-performance environments where precision, discretion, and reliability are critical.
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced startup, technology, or engineering environment.
  • HR or people operations support, including onboarding, training, and employee engagement.
  • Event coordination and travel management.
  • Familiarity with health & safety compliance, including procedures and PPE management.
  • Project coordination or light project management experience.
  • An interest in marine technology.
  • About Us

We’re here to propel a more liveable world – cleaner air, better commutes, and deeper connections with nature and each other. Our hydrofoiling electric vessels use up to 90% less energy than traditional boats, unlocking entirely new opportunities.

We’re backed by top-tier investors including Blackbird Ventures, and our team includes talent from the America’s Cup, SpaceX, Rocketlab, Halter, Apple, and leading climate startups. But titles don’t matter here – what matters is how we show up : with purpose, humility, and a restless optimism for what’s possible.

    Why our people love Vessev

  • We’re building something different – from how we move on the water to the kind of team and workplace we’re creating
  • The chance to work on technology that can drive real, lasting impact in the world
  • A team of hugely talented and collaborative people
  • 20 weeks fully paid parental leave for primary caregivers, and 4 weeks for secondary (conditions apply)
  • Competitive salaries that reflect the value of the work
  • Being on the water is part of our job – from trips on our vessels to our offices that border the Tamaki River
  • And if the water’s where you want to be, you’ll be in good company. You’ll find no shortage of boaters, beach goers, sailors, foilers, surfers, and kiteboarders here.
  • Apply now

To apply, send us your CV and a short cover letter that gives us a sense of who you are and why this role feels like the right fit.

Research shows that women and other under-represented groups often only apply when they meet every requirement – even though they could be an excellent fit. If you see yourself doing great work here, but don’t tick every box, we’d still love to hear from you. We’re building a team where everyone has the chance to do their best work.
