We have a teaching position available at the start of 2026 for an enthusiastic, dedicated teacher at our small island kura on Aotea Great Barrier Island. This is a permanent part-time position working with our Y5–8 akonga in a supportive, relationship-focused environment where every student is known, valued, and encouraged to shine.
The successful applicant will teach in our tuakana (senior) class, delivering high-quality learning aligned with Te Mātaiaho, the refreshed New Zealand Curriculum. You will work collaboratively with our committed staff to create engaging, inclusive learning experiences that nurture student achievement, hauora, and a strong sense of belonging.
We highly value te reo Māori, tikanga Māori, and mātauranga Māori, embedding these into our curriculum and everyday school life. The successful applicant will embrace opportunities to support and grow students’ cultural knowledge, identity, and confidence in using te reo Māori.
