Leadership Development Facilitator, Children's Mission- Wellington

About the Role

The Salvation Army believes that tamariki are Tino Taonga (precious treasures) and were created by God to be seen, heard, and included. We are committed to creating an environment where tamariki experience a sense of belonging and are supported to grow—both personally and in their relationship with Jesus.

The Leadership Development Facilitator, Children's Mission will provide leadership as part of the National Next Gen Team through leadership development and resourcing, so children's ministry leaders are best equipped to work with tamariki in their communities.

What will your responsibilities be :

  • To advance the mission of The Salvation Army.
  • To build capacity and character of leaders through the development and oversight of children's leader training pathways, coaching and development opportunities.
  • To coordinate and support training events, coaching, and community of practises.
  • To collaborate to create and share discipleship resources for small groups and other activities, aiming to foster spiritual growth and a deeper, actionable understanding of faith that drives social change.
  • To equip leaders in their efforts to foster spiritual growth in tamariki and a deeper, actionable understanding of faith that drives social change.
  • To administer the Next Gen website and develop and outwork a strong communications plan which includes social media, website / s and platforms.
  • To work as a member of the National Next Gen team to outwork our action plan and see the Next Generations prioritised across The Salvation Army.
  • Our ideal candidate will :

  • Be legally entitled to work in New Zealand.
  • Be committed to the Christian faith and be an active participant in a Salvation Army faith community.
  • Hold a relevant degree qualification in Children's Work and / or training.
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Have a good cross-cultural understanding.
  • Be able to work cooperatively in a diverse and dispersed team environment, sharing information, ideas and effective practices while maintaining relevant privacy, and confidentiality.
  • Have sound experience working with children's leaders.
  • Have experience in children's working training development.
  • Have experience and proven ability in communications.
  • Have strong administration and organizational skill.

    This is a permanent, full-time role 37.5 hours per week , with flexibility to negotiate hours for the right candidate .

    The Salary for this role will fall between : $65,000 and $75,000
