Nurse Maude, a trusted leader in community health and support services, is seeking a full-time, permanent Management Accountant to join our Christchurch-based Finance team. This is a pivotal role where your financial acumen will drive performance, support strategic planning, and strengthen operational excellence across the organisation.

You'll partner with business units to deliver high-quality management accounting services, build financial capability, and contribute to long-term sustainability. From budgeting and forecasting to performance analysis and process improvement, you'll help ensure our financial systems are fit-for-purpose, future-ready, and aligned with our mission to serve the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver timely and accurate management accounting services, including month-end reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Develop financial models to support planning, scenario analysis, and strategic decision-making
  • Monitor performance and KPIs, providing actionable insights to senior leadership
  • Partner with operational managers to align financial resources with organisational priorities
  • Lead initiatives to improve finance processes, reporting, and systems
  • Support year-end audit processes and contribute to pricing models and funding proposals
  • Mentor junior staff and build financial capability across the organisation
  • Champion a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and values-led leadership
  • Actively uphold the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi

You're a proactive and collaborative finance professional with a strong analytical mindset and a knack for turning complex data into clear insights. To thrive in this role, you will bring :

Experience and Knowledge

  • CA ANZ or equivalent professional accounting qualification
  • 10+ years' experience in management accounting, ideally in healthcare, aged care, or not-for-profit sectors
  • Proven success in financial planning, analysis, and process improvement
  • Experience in multi-service environments with diverse funding streams
  • Proficiency in financial software and data visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI, Excel)
  • Skills and Competencies
