About the roleMcConnell Dowell is looking for a talented and motivated Mechanical Project Manager to join our New Zealand team based in Dunedin.
This is a fantastic opportunity to lead project delivery from planning through to completion, ensuring quality outcomes across mechanical and infrastructure works.
As Mechanical Project Manager, you'll be the driving force behind our Dunedin projects overseeing planning, execution, and stakeholder engagement, while ensuring safety, quality, and performance remain at the forefront.
If you enjoy taking ownership, leading high-performing teams, and working closely with clients and partners to deliver successful outcomes, this could be the role for you.Responsibilities include : Manage and deliver mechanical projects to scope, budget, and schedule.
Provide strong leadership and direction to project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Oversee procurement, scheduling, and resource planning.
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Monitor progress, costs, and risks, implementing corrective actions where required.
Maintain excellent client and stakeholder relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
Mentor and develop junior engineers and project staff.
About you : Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
10+ years' experience in mechanical engineering, with proven project management expertise.
Strong track record delivering projects in live construction environments.
Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Sound knowledge of HSE standards and a strong safety focus.
Ability to manage competing priorities and drive outcomes.
