About The Role
An opportunity has opened for a dedicated Registered Mental Health Professional to join the Tauranga Acute Care Team – our 24 / 7 mental health crisis response service. This is a permanent role working up to 40 hours per week in a high-trust, high-support environment.
You will be responsible for acute mental health assessments, short-term follow-up, engaging community services, and initiating effective plans for individuals and their whānau following a mental health crisis. The work is dynamic and responsive, requiring sound clinical reasoning and confident decision-making under pressure.
You will also work collaboratively within a multi-professional team of nurses, social workers, and occupational therapists, delivering services that are accessible, inclusive, and culturally responsive to the community in the Bay of Plenty.

The Acute Care Team (Crisis) operates out of Tauranga, a vibrant coastal city known for its golden beaches, warm climate, and active lifestyle. The service plays a crucial role within Mental Health and Addictions Services across the Bay of Plenty, supporting individuals in crisis and their whānau with wraparound care and expert support. You will be joining a connected, passionate team with strong clinical leadership and ongoing opportunities for development.
