Registered Nurse - Surgical Wards

Mō te tūnga | About our Role :

We are looking for a registered nurse with surgical experience, to join our supportive team. Ideally you will have neurosurgical experience within surgical wards, but you will have the opportunity to practice across a range of surgical specialities.

When you join our team, you will be professionally accountable for the exceptional quality nursing management of patients and ensuring the environment is safe and conducive to the wellbeing of patients, their whānau, staff and visitors. You can expect a specific orientation programme developed by your Charge Nurse and will have on-going support so you can develop expert level skills.

This is a 1.0 FTE position but we can accommodate hours between 0.4 to 1.0 FTE.

Your passion for excellent patient care and clinical expertise will make you stand out, but we know you will also bring more than this to your nursing. You will also :

• Have excellent supportive, engaging and positive team skills
• Demonstration of a commitment to professional practice, and professional and personal development
• Current Registration
• Neurosurgical experience in within a ward environment is preferred but not essential
• Be an excellent communicator, facilitator and advocate for patients
• Be able to work with all our hospital teams in all aspects of our service
• Actively seek opportunities for relationship, practice and service development
• Have the initiative and ability to contribute to and support best practice standards.
