Trainee Plumbers and Drain Layers. (Full Time- 30 hours per week, Pay Starts from $30 per hour)

Role Overview :

As an Apprentice Plumber & Drain Layer, you will work alongside experienced professionals to learn the core skills needed to become a qualified plumber and drainage specialist. This hands-on position will provide you with valuable training and exposure to various plumbing and drainage systems, tools, and techniques. Whether you're installing, maintaining, or repairing plumbing and drainage systems, you'll gain comprehensive experience in the trade.

Key Responsibilities :

Assisting in the installation, maintenance, and repair of water supply, drainage, gas, and sanitary plumbing systems under supervision.

Learning to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and plans to determine plumbing requirements.

Helping with the selection and installation of pipes, fittings, valves, and fixtures .

Supporting tasks such as cutting, bending, and joining pipes and fittings using hand and power tools.

Assisting in the testing of plumbing systems for leaks, pressure, and performance standards.

Carrying out basic repairs and routine maintenance of plumbing systems and equipment.

Ensuring that work complies with New Zealand building codes, standards, and health & safety regulations .

Safely using and maintaining plumbing tools, equipment, and machinery.

Maintaining a clean and safe work environment on job sites.

Participating in training, assessments, and professional development activities related to the plumbing apprenticeship programme.

Requirements :

• A strong interest in plumbing, drainage, and construction trades evident from studying a NZQA Certificate course at Lvel 4 ( No requirement to have completed the course but evidence of enrolment is needed).
• 2 years of work experience as a Plumbing / Drainlayer assistant or a similar role is needed.
• Necessary help / supervisoin will be provided towards gaining registration.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail.
• Good physical fitness and ability to work in various weather conditions.
• Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player.
• Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
• A full driving license (preferred but not essential).
• No prior experience is required, but an eagerness to learn is essential!
